Eligible Energy Technologies

The following energy technologies are eligible to apply:

  • Biogas/ anaerobic digestion dry or wet
  • Electricity generation from any source of waste
  • Other innovative options that can demonstrate reduced need for existing commercially available energy sources such as LPG, diesel, coal or electricity etc

 

In the case of a municipal waste to energy idea, municipal and local bodies are eligible to apply in partnership with at least one business group.

Plants more than 12 cu m in capacity fall under the category of large boigas.  Advancement in Nepal's biogas technology is being achieved via the long term practices on modified GGC 2047 model along with learning from international technological practices. The phrasal term 'large biogas system' is a catch-hold (umbrella term) which includes the varieties of different plant types & technologies available.

Partnerships

Partnerships are welcome. Partnerships can include (but are not necessarily limited to) partners such as non-government organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), development agencies, foundations, universities, schools, or government. In the case of municipal waste to energy idea, municipal and local bodies are eligible to apply in partnership with at least one business group.
